Former Bundesliga player Luiz Gustavo is in a pulmonary embolism in a hospital in São Paulo. As his club FC São Paulo announced, in which the 37 -year -old Brazilian is still active, he complained about pain in his chest before training.
After an examination by the medical department of the association, he was immediately brought to the clinic. He must stay there for observation and treatment for the next few days. Heavy pulmonary embolism can be life -threatening.
Luiz Gustavo played between 2007 and 2017 for TSG Hoffenheim, FC Bayern and VfL Wolfsburg. The defensive midfielder played 41 international matches for Brazil and also has German citizenship.
