Hertha BSC ended his collaboration with Fredi Bobic more than two years ago. Now he has found a new job. It pulls him abroad.
Fredi Bobic takes on a new post – and that at one of the most successful clubs in Poland. The former Bundesliga manager will lead the sporting skills at Legia Warsaw in the future. As the 15-time Polish champion announced on Saturday, Bobic becomes a football boss at Legia.
Various media had already reported on the commitment before. The 53-year-old described his new job in a press release from the club as a “great honor and challenge”. “The association has great ambitions and I am ready to support the team in achieving further success,” said Bobic.
According to the club, his tasks include the long-term orientation in the sporting area, the structure and further development of scouting processes as well as the use of its international contacts-especially with a view to transfers. Bobic will work closely with sports director Michal Zewlakow, who came into office in March.
Most recently, Bobic was managing director of Sport at Hertha BSC until January 2023 before the club separated from him. A legal aftermath followed. Previously, he had filled out similar roles at VfB Stuttgart and Eintracht Frankfurt.
Legia apparently convinced the former international with ambitious goals. This also includes a state -of -the -art training center that should be one of the best in Europe.
The club particularly attracted a stir internationally this season: Legia reached the quarter -finals in the Conference League. There they were eliminated after a 0: 3 in the first leg against Chelsea, but with a 2-1 away win in the second leg in London.
