Erik Lesser ended his biathlon career after last season. Now he has a new job – together with a buddy.

Erik Lesser will remain in biathlon: the 2015 world champion, who announced his retirement after last season, will be the ARD “sports show” expert alongside Arnd Peiffer next winter. The duo succeeds the longstanding experts Kati Wilhelm and Magdalena Neuner.

“Of course I’ve also taken a critical look at the biathlon reporting in general over the last few years, but now I’m looking forward to the exciting task of doing my part,” said the 34-year-old Lesser: “I hope that Arnd will join me takes his hand. No master has fallen from the sky yet, but it can’t be that difficult.”

Lesser and Peiffer had shared a room for years when they were active. “Erik has always been able to talk a lot, as all biathlon fans know,” said Peiffer with a wink.
