After more than 20 years without a new LP, Everything But The Girl have announced a new record for early 2023. Between 1984 and 1999 the duo released eleven works before disappearing as a band.

In the meantime, both have been busy with solo projects. In 2023 there will be music by Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt again in duo format.

Taking to social media, the two members shared the news: “We thought you might be interested that we’ve made a new Everything But The Girl album. It will come out next spring.”

The couple also opened their own Instagram account for the first time. In the first post they informed about the forthcoming record under a “previously unpublished picture from New York 1995 by @marcelokrasilcic” from the photo series for the LP WALKING WOUNDED:

Everything But The Girl: Sophisti-Pop and “Missing”

In the 1980s, the formation shaped the subgenre Sophisti-Pop, which consists of elements of New Wave, pop, jazz and complex electronic productions. DJ Todd Terry’s remix of “Missing” brought the duo great international success.

Their last studio album TEMPERAMENTAL was released in 1999.
