On the Grote Markt, even the waltzing to music by Johan Strauss is not forgotten. “Dancing is fun and we get the opportunity to do it, so why not?” says Jef Tavernier, one of the visitors. “I’ve always done it, to the rhythm and to the music, without anyone really directing it. It’s just the best to sing and skip together.”
Rita Vandenbroele also enjoys the festival: “We like music, but not the boenke boenke. Classical, French music… we like that.”
