Every second person wants a sex toy for Christmas

By Konstantin Marrach

Christmas still feels a long way off. But by mid-October, some people are traditionally already thinking about what they want to give away for the holiday this time. A survey has now shown that every second German would be happy to receive a sex toy as a Christmas present…

The survey was carried out among almost 1,800 participants from all ages and professional backgrounds by the Bremen erotic retailer “Fun Factory”.

The most important results from this:

51.4 percent of the women surveyed and even 56.3 percent of the men would be happy about handcuffs, massage oil or even a vibrator under the Christmas tree.

► And the anticipation of an erotic surprise increases with age. Among 18 to 30 year olds, 42.2 percent are interested in a sexy present. Among 51 to 60 year olds it is even 56.5 percent.

► Also exciting: Wishes obviously don’t always become reality. Only 29 percent of women and 23 percent of men have ever received a toy as a holiday gift. The good news: 86.3 percent were happy with what they chose. 13 percent would have preferred something else raunchy. And only 0.5 percent of those surveyed found the erotic present inappropriate

By the way: You don’t just have to give sinful gifts to your partner. Almost a third of the women surveyed tend to give blindfolds etc. to friends.

► What do men and women spend on average on sinful Christmas presents? There is a small difference here! On average, HE reaches 99 euros into your pocket. SHE, on the other hand, spends an average of 84 euros on HIM, according to the survey.

By the way: The main reason given why a man or woman would never give a sex toy as a gift is not the embarrassment of uncomprehending looks from other family members. Rather: According to the survey, 28 percent shy away from such gifts because their partner generally rejects erotic accessories or they simply don’t know what the other person would like…

“The survey shows: You can have the courage to give a toy as a gift,” says Jordis S. Meise, Marketing Manager at “Fun Factory,” to the BZ. “And if you’re not sure what your partner wants wishes: A voucher is never wrong!”

She emphasizes: “Giving a sex toy as a Christmas symbol represents intimacy and the appreciation of togetherness. Many couples are happy about this, especially after the often stressful pre-Christmas period!”
