Evert Santegoeds shrugs off the cheerleader criticism that Angela de Jong has leveled at him. “She does her trick and has her preferences and I sometimes have mine.”
It is no secret that journalistic distance is not exactly the strongest point of the experts at Shownieuws. For example, Guido den Aantrekker acts as the mustard of Rachel Hazes’ cremated croquette, Bram Moszkowicz is deep in it at the Molletjes and we see Evert Santegoeds hustling all the time with Connie Witteman.
Cheerleading
Bram and Evert sometimes also join forces, for example when it comes to Peter Gillis. They constantly treat them at the desk as if they were some kind of Father Teresa. Sandra Schuurhof sat opposite this week and couldn’t hear how those two were condoning Peter Gillis’ misconduct. She therefore ended up in a clash with Bram.
According to Angela de Jong, those men are really making a fool of themselves with that Gillis hugging. “I think his largest cheerleading team is pretty much at Shownieuws. They are very pleased that he is on the screen and that man has done nothing. No, yes, I really can’t get my head around it. Anyway, it’s Talpa, it’s SBS.”

What does Evert Santegoeds think of that sneer? Does he want to respond to that? “No,” he says in the podcast Strictly Privateafter which he still responds. “Angela does her trick and has her preferences and I sometimes have mine, but I haven’t gotten much involved in the Gillis affair over the past week.”
Evert is great with Peter; they themselves were in intensive care together. “What I said: I visited him once last year when I was in Helmond and he was in the hospital there. Then I called him: ‘Shall we have coffee?’”
Forty years
Peter was interested in that. “Yes, he thought that was a good idea and that’s how I came up with the story that Mark was not alone in intensive care, but the bizarre fact occurred that he was there with his mother and that is my job, just reporting news. from showbiz and I did that.”

In other words, as Angela undoubtedly means: outdated.
