“The ‘after’ suffering is what I like the most. There is no equal feeling & rdquor ;. who says it is Eva Llinas, economist, director of private banking at the Banc de Sabadell in Platja d’Aro and “adventurous athlete”, according to her own definition. Personally, I think she falls short. In her mid-thirties—the new twenties, by the way—and having done no more than hit the gym a few times a week, she decided to give her sneakers a plus and go for a run. Since then, she has resisted nothing. Limits? “Few or none & rdquor ;, she assures.

Six days in the desert. Des Sables Marathon. Shattered feet. Kilometers and kilometers practically alone and with barely twenty percent female participation. “Women, in general, are afraid of facing something like this,” she acknowledges. Men see themselves as capable of everything and it is more difficult for us. We do not have references or too many supports. It’s funny because when you sign up for a test, they always put themselves above what they are and women, below. And that we are more resistant. But the race puts us all in our place & rdquor ;.

With a healthy and strong mind, Eva Llinás reveals one of the keys to her resistance. “I think in hours, not in kilometers. That suits me & rdquor ;. She loves the mountains above all else and she is so restless that “I already notice that there are things that, because they are repeated, don’t motivate me as much. Everything that can happen to me, I already know. What I am going to eat and what is going to hurt me, too. I want something new. For example? I haven’t competed on a bike yet so you can already imagine where the shots will go & rdquor ;, she says laughing.

Morocco, Peru, Costa Rica or Fuerteventura – “where it all began” – are some of the self-sufficiency races in which it has successfully participated. Beyond the office and the numbers there is a lot of world to go and a lot of adrenaline waiting for her.
