Eva Jinek wants to change course at NPO 1: ‘No brown sandwich’

Eva Jinek wants to completely change course on the eve of NPO 1. After years of depressing talk shows such as M and Khalid & Sophie, she now wants something more cheerful. “No brown sandwich!”

According to Eva Jinek, it is time for the eve of NPO 1 to have another talk show that everyone enjoys watching. “I have to put on a successful talk show at the NPO at a very important time. It should not be a brown sandwich that is good for you, it should be tasty, people should really enjoy it,” she says in Nouveau.

Everything on everything

Eva doesn’t just want to make a talk show. She really wants to add something to the Dutch TV landscape. “I experience that as a tall order. And there is no guarantee that it will work. But I’m going to give it my all.”

“Think about every detail: the sound, the shots, how to highlight people beautifully, the PR and communications via social media, invitations to guests, the music, the audience warm-up, the decor. Everything has to be perfect and correct. It’s great to have time to prepare this, but I would rather have been on the channel now.”

A bit disorganized

BNNVARA absolutely wanted to continue with Sophie & Jeroen until the summer. That program will move to the late evening of NPO 1 after the summer, probably with a new presentation.

Anyway: it is the reason that Eva is currently not on the channel. “I feel a bit disappointed without a program. I’ve never been free for so long, but yes, the schedule was packed.”

Eight months

Eva who has never been free for so long? That’s saying something. Apparently her mega-long vacations are also getting boring, because she is really working hard at the NPO. “We will soon be going live four days a week at seven o’clock in the evening for eight months,” the presenter explains.

Top sport? Well, it’s perfectly doable, says Eva. “Then I sleep at half past twelve and then I can get up at six o’clock and then take my child to school.”
