Eurythmics: Rumors about reunion, album and tour

An anonymous source in the tabloid “Mirror” is currently speculating about the reunion of Eurythmics for a tour. Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart last performed together on November 5, 2022 when they were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. They performed three songs, including their hit “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)”.

This joint appearance is said to have convinced US promoters to plan 40 worldwide concerts and offer the musicians £100 million for the tour, according to the source. Should it come to that, it would be the first Eurythmics tour in more than 20 years. However, there has been no firm commitment so far. However, fans and insiders are hoping for a comeback, and the “Mirror” source is even expecting a new studio album.

Performing together is exhausting

Stewart described performing with Lennox as an emotional rollercoaster in an interview earlier this year. The two musicians were not only a musical duo, but also a couple privately for a few years. Many songs are about their relationship. Therefore, according to the 70-year-old, joint appearances are emotionally exhausting.

Eurythmics were founded in 1980, the group broke up ten years later. In the past, they only performed together for isolated projects, such as the last album PEACE from 1999 and tribute concerts.
