Tim Torn Teutenberg

As of: February 2, 2026 7:55 p.m

Tim Torn Teutenberg grabbed the Germany flag and celebrated his European Championship coup after a feat of strength over 40 kilometers. Less than an hour later, his sister Lea Lin took third place in the elimination race.

The 23-year-old won the gold medal in the points race on the second day of the European Track Cycling Championships in Konya, Turkey, ahead of the Dane Conrad Haugsted and the Belgian Jasper de Buyst. For Teutenberg it was already the second precious metal on the second day after he took second place in his special discipline of elimination driving at the start on Sunday.

Teutenberg’s sister Lea Lin, who is three years older, made it onto the podium in the elimination race a little later in third place. She only had to admit defeat to the exceptional Belgian rider Lotte Kopecky and the Frenchwoman Victoire Berteau. In the men’s time trial, Maximilian Dörnbach raced to fifth place.

Women’s track cycling foursome takes silver

The women’s track cycling foursome completed the successful German day with the silver medal in the 4000 meter team pursuit. Mieke Kröger, Lisa Klein, Laura Süßemilch and Franziska Brauße were only beaten by Great Britain, who won in a world record time of 4:02.808 minutes.

The German team has already won six medals in the title fights. Another precious metal beckons Lea Sophie Friedrich in the sprint. The three-time Olympic medalist is already in the semi-finals, which will take place on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the German men’s foursome finished the European Championships in sixth place.

Another highlight awaits Teutenberg on the final day. In the Madison, the track cycling ace wants to be on the podium with veteran Roger Kluge on Thursday after the duo had already won the World Championship title in 2024 and European Championship silver in 2025
