Members of the European Parliament appealed to the head of the European Union of Football Associations, Alexander Ceferin, with a demand to urgently reconsider the issue of granting St. Petersburg the right to host the 2022 Champions League final.

Some deputies of the highest legislative body of the European Union supported the demand of a number of politicians and public organizations of the West on the transfer of the Champions League final from St. Petersburg to another city.

UEFA has not yet responded to such appeals, although he expressed regret over the start of Russia’s military operation in the DPR and LPR. It was reported that the goal of some representatives of the European establishment was the contract of the football federation with Russian Gazprom.
