At the European Figure Skating Championships in Kaunas, Lithuania, the Belgian Loena Hendrickx (74.66 points) is well ahead of her compatriot Nina Pinzarrone after the short program.

Third is Anastasiia Gubanova, who has been competing for Georgia since 2021. If Hendrickx succeeds in a good routine on Saturday – from 12:05 p.m. live on the ARD stream and on ONE – the 24-year-old will have the best chance of celebrating the European Championship title and thus the greatest success of her career to date.

Isaev at the start in the free skating final

The German figure skating champion Kristina Isaev also made it into the free skate final in 20th place with her short program to jazz sounds at her European Championship premiere with 53.61 points. “II was very excited. That wouldn’t have been necessary because the audience liked me and was very nice to me“, said the Mannheimer who trains in Oberstdorf: “But I’m still gaining experience at my first European Championships. Next season I will definitely feel even more confident on the ice.”

Nicole Schott, the best German figure skater for many years, ended her career at the end of November 2023. In total, Schott took part in seven world and European championships, achieving two World Cup and four European Championship top ten placements. She was on Olympic ice in Pyeongchang/South Korea in 2018 and in Beijing/China in 2022. She reached the final in each case.
