The water polo players came in second in the first round. They were then in a group with Paok, Solaris, Echeyde, Ludwigsburg and Montpellier. The first game against Strasbourg was narrowly lost (12-9). For Pascal Jansen it was a reunion with his old club.
The Zaankanters went down harder against Partizan Belgrade (17-11). The team was already eliminated by the two defeats. The top two teams in the group advanced. The last game had no consequences, but was lost (14-10) against Savona.
