Rowing (f): Two more finalists

With Aoife Casey and Stefania Buttignon, an Irish and an Italian have now been able to secure the final ticket in the second repechage of the lightweight ones.

09:45

Rowing (f): Dräger prevails!

A very strong performance by Marie-Louise Dräger! The German, who will retire at the end of the year, finished second in the lightweight singles repechage. After a big fight, she has to admit defeat to the Greek Fitsiou, but the 41-year-old from Schwerin is still in the final.

09:34

Rowing (f): DRV boat in the final!

Victory in this repechage goes to the Swiss, who narrowly defeated the Netherlands. In third place, the German boat crossed the line in front of Italy after a good final sprint and is therefore also in the final.

09:31

Rowing (f): final entry for Germany?

Now the quadruple is coming up. In this repechage even four out of six boats make it to the final. Sarah Wibberenz, Frauke Hundeling, Marie-Sophie Zeidler and Pia Greit are on the water for Germany on lane two.

09:23

Rowing (f): Clear success of the Netherlands

Completely unchallenged, the women’s four of the Netherlands wins the repechage. Behind them, Poland narrowly wins the fight for the final ticket against Italy. In the end, the German team is far behind in this race.

09:21

Rowing (f): The next class of boat

In the truest sense of the word, it’s one after the other. Now the viewers see a repechage in the women’s foursome. There is again a German boat, but the DRV athletes are not expected to have much of a chance in this repechage.

09:20

Rowing (f): The final is standing

Emily Hegarty and Fiona Murtagh make it to the end here and earn their final ticket in this repechage. The two Greek women also come behind them in the medal run. The German duo is meanwhile in sixth place and thus misses the final.

09:16

Rowing (f): Hot fight in the repechage

An additional repechage follows, which has two more final places ready for the first two boats. The race is currently being made by the Irish boat ahead of Greece and the Czech Republic. Lena Osterkamp and Marie-Catherine Arnold are in the running for Germany, but are already a long way behind.

09:15

Rowing (f): knocked off

That was nothing! Judith Guhse and Sophie Leupold do their best, but have no chance in the end. Almost 30 seconds are missing the victorious Romanians, who relegated Italy and Poland to places in this race.

09:12

Rowing (f): It’s going to be difficult!

While the Romanian duo is relaxed in the lead, things are not looking so good for the German boat. They are currently in fifth place and will probably miss the final.

09:11

Rowing (f): The first German boat!

In the second semi-final of the doubles two Germans are now also there. On track six, Judith Guhse and Sophie Leupold will fight for a place in the final. However, the first place there should already be taken, as the two top favorites are taking part. Ancuta Bodnar and Simona Radis from Romania are reigning Olympic champions and clear favorites for gold here as well.

09:07

Rowing (f): Safe!

As expected, the Dutch women clearly prevail. De Jong and Youssifou can even save energy here and slow down. Second place, which goes to the Lithuanian boat, is also safe. Behind them, Great Britain secures a place in the final after a great fight.

09:00

Rowing (f): Let’s go!

The first semi-final of the women’s double sculls has started. In this semi-final are among others the boats from Switzerland and Austria. However, the favorites are Roos de Jong and Laila Youssifou from the Netherlands, who rowed to bronze at the Olympics.

08:48

Rowing (m/f): It’s about to start!

As already mentioned, the second day of competition will open at the Olympic regatta facility. Medals are not yet awarded there, but there are some semi-finals and repechage events to be seen. The women start in double sculls!

08:40

The second day

The first three hours of today are all about rowing. Sport climbing and track cycling only provide further entertainment around 12 noon. In the latter, medals are also awarded in the afternoon, just like in BMX. The women’s triathlon is also on the program at around 5:15 p.m.
