I could imagine van Gaal using him as a “hybrid” between Weghorst and Malen, so no storm edge, but no less dribbler either.
It can definitely be an advantage in a game to have a striker who can react to different styles of play in the game. However, I am also surprised that he plays an important role in the NM.
The other players you mentioned are more at home on the wing.
