The Turkish team wins the continental basketball tournament for the second time. Beat the monk 81-70. Third place for Olympiacos
The siren plays, and the Etihad Arena is colored by Giallobù. Fenerbahce wins the Euroleague for the second time in its history, overcoming the monk 81-70 at the end of a rough, balanced and decided final. It is the first triumph as a coach of Jasikevicius, who wins it thanks to the defense. It is the first triumph of Nick Melli, fundamental for the impact in his half field and moved to expire. It is a team triumph, with many great players who have been able to alternate at the helm: from Guduric (MVP) to Hayes-Davis, from Baldwin to Devon Hall. The monk of Spanoulis is defeated, who will bitterly remember the first appearance in the final. In the challenge for third place in the afternoon, however, Olympiacos takes the derby against Panathinaikos: 97-93 for the red and white, with Pieters (32) and Vezenkov (23) great protagonists.
Fenerbahce-Monaco 81-70
–
The start is a Monegasque illusion. James and Diallo paint and set the canvas for the escape, taking advantage of excellent percentages of 3 in the first quarter, but Fenerbahce does not break down. The defense goes up, and the Turks exploit their physicality to take to the bezel: it is there that they mend the disadvantage, and the game proceeds balanced, broken up and full of overtaking. As in the semifinal, then, the moment of Devon Hall arrives: his offensive rebound that is worth a basket and I do it at the end of the first half he sends Fener ahead in the changing rooms (35-33). In the third quarter, errors and large games alternate, with a dialing that loads the monk on his shoulders and responds to the blows of Fenerbahce: the Turks continue to defend very well (there are 14 balls lost by the monk), and exploit the extrapossesexes. The game is decided in the fourth period, with a partial of 11-0 for the Gialloblù and the subsequent expulsion of Diallo (5 fouls): Hall and Guduric make the triples that seal the triumph, starting the Fenerbahce party.
