The fifth episode of “Euphoria” is out – and fans are worried about Rue. Spoiler alert: The new episode ends with gang boss Alamo hitting her with a polo bat – and just doesn’t want to stop. In addition, Zendaya’s character is no longer seen in the teaser for the next episode.
Nevertheless, many online believe that she will not die – after all, she has already survived many other life-threatening situations. Zendaya is also still the star and executive producer of the HBO series, which has been running again in Germany since April 12th with the new episodes of the third season.
Loyalty put to the test
Background: The situation in the series came about because Alamo, boss of the sex club, questioned Rue’s loyalty. She has to dig a hole for herself on one of his farms, in which she is buried up to her head. The episode ended with Alamo riding up on his horse, a polo stick in hand – supposedly ready to crush Rue’s skull…
Maddy as a possible savior
Nevertheless, many on social media hope that her friend Maddy (played by Alexa Demie) was able to save Rue with her words. Because she had now concluded a business deal with Alamo. In one scene he asked her if she would trust Rue. “She’s a little crazy, but has a good heart,” Maddy replied. This may have changed Alamo’s mind and perhaps saved Rue’s life.
Grown up
In the new season of “Euphoria,” the main characters have all gotten a lot older and are no longer in high school like they were in the first two seasons – they are young adults. Rue initially worked as a drug courier and in a strip club.
And the others? Cassie (played by Sydney Sweeney) and Nate (Jacob Elordi) have a toxic marriage, Maddy worked as an OnlyFans manager and Jules (Hunter Schafer) as a sugar baby.
