The EU Parliament proposes the introduction of a new definition: Meat means “edible parts of animals”.

It has supported a presentation in Strasbourg, where, among other things, the definition of meat is to go through again.

This may have far -reaching consequences, as in addition to the names such as steak, clip, sausage or hamburger, according to the EU Parliament, solely for products containing meat and excluding cellular products.

Thus, in the future, vegetable cuts, vegetable steaks or vegetable burger should no longer be sold in the future.

The sausage ban is not so -called in the Church, as the matter is in the hands of Member States.

Negotiations with Member States on the final form of the law will begin on Tuesday, October 14.
