EU leader wants countermeasures if Trump introduces import duties: “We must assume that he will do exactly what he announced”

The leader of the largest group in the European Parliament, the center-right European People’s Party (EPP), wants the European Union to take clear countermeasures if incoming President Donald Trump introduces import duties. “We must assume that Trump will do exactly what he announced: 20 percent import tariffs on European products could become a reality very soon,” Manfred Weber told ‘Funke Media Gruppe’ on Saturday.
