“You will forgive me if I express with this letter, and not with a press conference or interviews, the reasons for the decision that I took, with a serene and constructive spirit, today. Since the first day of training in August, I have felt great pleasure in going to the gym with the whole team group, including doctors, physiotherapists, trainers and the rest of the staff, whom I share in heartfelt thanks. And then, you may ask, why leave the bench (but not the club)? The reason is very simple: I understood that I had become – not from today – a factor of division and, consequently, of distraction. Even by committing myself to carrying out my job in the best possible way, every circumstance was transformed into an opportunity to open a referendum for or against me as a person Giorgio Armani and the club since my first day in Olimpia, in particular, I had a hard time accepting the climate, so much so that at times I even hesitated to climb the last steps towards the pitch: to foster a moment of unity, creating the conditions for everyone to rally around the team, as it has already demonstrated club to give my contribution to face the new challenges off the field, which are upon us.
