The US online marketplace operator Etsy Inc. has filled a key position. On Thursday, the company announced the appointment of Colin Stretch as Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary. The experienced lawyer will take up the post on February 14 and will report directly to CEO Josh Silverman in the future. In his new role, Stretch will also be a member of the company’s leadership team, Etsy said.
According to his future employer, Stretch has more than 25 years of experience. Among other things, he headed the legal department of Facebook from 2013 to 2019 as General Counsel. Etsy CEO Silverman hailed the new hire as a “world-class attorney and leader.” Going forward, his extensive experience will play “a critical role” in the company’s efforts to “ensure we remain a safe and trusted marketplace.”
