Eton Shirts: Moments Make the Man

Eton Shirts is launching a campaign featuring pole vaulter and world record holder Armand “Mondo” Duplantis. “Moments Make the Man” is a very personal portrait of the big and small moments that determine the life of a man – in this case Mondo Duplantis’ – and the moments that lie ahead of him. With Moments Make the Man, Eton aims to inspire us to embrace and appreciate every experience – because they all shape who we are, who we have been and who we want to become.

On the road to realizing our full potential, we all face pivotal moments, expressed at times as breakthroughs and lessons of failure. Regardless of whether these moments move us forward or not, they are all part of who we are and what makes us who we are. Eton, the Swedish heritage brand for men’s shirts, aims to inspire us to enjoy all of life’s moments, to be aware of how they shape us into who we are and the power to evolve within them. To illustrate this, Eton presents the Moments Make the Man campaign featuring Swedish-American multiple medalist and world record holder Mondo Duplantis. With the campaign, Eton underscores its claim to be a ubiquitous part of its customers’ lives, both in the really big moments and in the small, intimate moments.

The idea of the campaign was implemented through a film that captures different moments from Mondo’s life. In it, he shares experiences that have defined him as an athlete and as a person: his greatest sporting successes, the experience of falling in love, through to fundamental everyday events. Swedish model Desiré Inglander, who is also Mondo’s partner, also stars in some of the scenes – illustrating a particularly defining experience – building a home together with someone. Mondo wears signature styles and key items from Eton’s new fall collection.

“While I’ve been fortunate enough to experience some incredibly great moments, meet some of the best athletes in the world and break some records, the smallest and most intimate moments shape me just as strongly, as an athlete, as a person and as a man. I hope that together with Eton I can encourage people to consciously experience and appreciate all moments in life while pursuing their personal goals.”says Mondo Duplantis.

Recorded by Johnny Kangasniemi in Stockholm, Moments Make the Man follows the teaser ‘What does it Take?’ released over the summer. The teaser represented the first stage of the collaboration with Mondo Duplantis.

“The Eton customer is on a constant path to realizing their full potential. A journey that consists of nothing but individual moments, from celebratory occasions to everyday routines. With this campaign, we want to inspire people to get the most out of every moment, and we hope we can help our customers feel a little more comfortable and confident about it, whether it’s a life-changing moment or not . Because at the end of the day, we are the product of all those moments.”says David Thoerewik, CEO of Eton.
