Estavana Polman finds new club in Denmark | Sport

In Nykøbing Polman becomes a teammate of Nikita van der Vliet. The club has qualified for the EHF European League. For Polman it is her third club in Denmark after Sønderjyske and Team Esbjerg. It is striking that the handball player will not play with number 79, but with number 97. Her trusted number is already taken at her new employer.

Polman was the big star at Esbjerg. She remained loyal to the club for years, but ended up sidetracked this year despite an ongoing contract. Esbjerg wanted to get rid of her and that hurt the Dutch, she said earlier. Last Saturday, she announced via Instagram that she was leaving the club for good.

“It’s been a great journey, nine years. I came here as a young girl and now I am leaving as a ‘grown up girl’. This is not the way I wanted to end. When I start something, I want to finish it. This is not the way I want to say goodbye. I want to let you know that you, Esbjerg, the fans, the volunteers have a special place in my heart.”
