Married in July Essi Unkuri and Viljami Harjuniemi have returned from the wedding bubble back to everyday life during the fall.
The married couple represented Delivery Run – movie’s invited guest night, where the two set the mood for an ordinary date night.
– Sounds really good. Quite a lot of work. I am on the radio side every day and focus and invest in it. That’s pretty much what everyday life goes to, Unkuri told Iltalehte.
Unkuri started in the spring as a presenter on the new Pop FM radio channel. In the fall, it was reported how the channel has become one of the five most listened to commercial radio channels already during its short history.
– You can be really proud and excited. We have a strong drive to grow and advance. The house is full of such creative people, so the sky is the limit, Unkuri is happy.
According to Unkur, radio hosting has felt completely his thing and he wants to develop himself in hosting and challenge himself in new areas of responsibility.
Unkur’s radio career has caused a clear change in the couple’s everyday life.
– Essi has been in the dune now and has a long day, so I’ve had more of my own time here than before. That’s how everyday life has changed, says Harjuniemi.

Harjuniemi has spent his time, among other things, on a surfing trip in Portugal.
– He is always leaving. I’m nervous that now that I’m busy at work, would we be traveling now? Now I have to stay at home alone with the dog, Unkuri playfully commented indignantly.
– We saved up for a really long time for the wedding and had to be careful that we couldn’t buy anything or go anywhere, but now it’s nice to do everything fun, Harjuniemi explains.
Next steps
Now the couple is looking for a new apartment.
– We’ve been knocking on doors and we’re looking for a triangle. We would like to find a place to ride. I would be ready to start building something like that and it could then be turned into a series that people could follow, Harjuniemi thinks.
Unkuri and Harjuniemi say that they have been to several screenings, but have not yet found the right apartment.
– Let’s search in peace. Then, when we find the right one, we’ll hit it, but yes, my fingers are already a little itchy, says Harjuniemi.
However, along with work, the apartment project is high on the couple’s priority list.
– As we have always talked about, yes, we dream of having our own family at some point, but one thing at a time. We have enjoyed these wedding desserts even here, Unkuri says.
He admits that he has been in a hurry since the wedding, but the newlyweds have also had time to enjoy, among other things, the spa weekend during the autumn season and each other’s company.
