Essevee plucks Tom Caluwé from Club Brugge

Previously, Tom Caluwé had been sporting director at KV Mechelen since 2019. Last year he was voted best technical director in our country. The Antwerp resident must “attract the right profiles” at Essevee together with the scouting cell, according to Essevee.

“Competitive Team”

“If a great club like Essevee comes your way, then you just jump on that train”, Tom Caluwé explained his choice. “The plans that Essevee has in mind fit in perfectly with my ambitions. Above all, we want to get a competitive team between the lines with a view to the new season.”

Zulte Waregem relegated last season as seventeenth and penultimate from the Jupiler Pro League. In the mid-season, the club was able to convince experienced players Ruud Vormer and Jelle Vossen to stay and is aiming for a quick return to the highest level. Left winger Alieu Fadera was sold to vice champion Racing Genk last week.
