This Friday, Florencia Peña (@flor_de_p) turned on the networks with a tweet: “The diputeta passed and asked to treat the law ‘Clean Teta’.” The actress and driver ironized about a past scandal while signing the present turbulent of José Luis Espert.
The memory refers to Juan Emilio Ameri, Salteño deputy who was recorded during a virtual session kissing and playing his partner’s breasts in front of the camera. The episode generated laughter, outrage and the immediate suspension requested by Sergio Massa under article 188 of the Regulation. Ameri, referent of the Peronist space, the endurance and former mayor of Rosario de la Frontera, faced an investigative commission and resigned, being one of the greatest legislative role in recent democracy.
The focus today is in Espert, dotted with the drug trafficking. Complaints released by means such as Page/12 and profile argue that he received 200 milDolla and used a plane and a truck linked to “Fred” Machado, entrepreneur arrested in Chubut for alleged links with drug trafficking, with an extradition request to the US “Survey moral disability”, appealing to article 66 of the Constitution. Sabrina Selva and Gabriela Estévez support the initiative and highlight the solidity of the tests: AFIP records and judicial testimonies.
From the opposition, Martín Lousteau (United Citizens) and other legislators claim that Espert leaves the Budget Commission, where he blocked key projects. The suspicions are not new: already in 2021 there was talk of narco financing in its presidential campaign, which ended with only 1.47% of the votes.
The crossroads of Florencia Peña revived Ameri’s memory and linked it to the Espert case. The comparison shows how personal and political scandals return to the public agenda and press a congress crossed by social distrust.
