The extreme Wu Lei affirmed this Thursday, after making his goodbye to Espanyol official, that the blue and white club will “always” be his team and, despite his departure to Shanghai Port, he will feel “just another parakeet”.
The footballer was, in statements to the club, very excited and grateful for this stage: “For me, a Chinese player, it is not easy to play in Europe. Here I have always felt the affection of the fans, and I keep it in my heart”.
Wu Lei wanted to thank the parakeet fans “for their affection” during these three and a half seasons. “From the first day I arrived here I have felt his support and enthusiasm from him. I will love you forever” commented the player, addressing the fans, with a smile.
The Chinese winger said goodbye to the coaching staff and the dressing room, of which he has fond memories. Wu Lei, who arrived in the 2018-19 winter market and has played 126 official matches, has always been a much-loved player in the Catalan block.
