Comes from CF Monterrey
Espanyol Barcelona have strengthened their defense with Mexican World Cup participant Cesar Montes. The 25-year-old central defender comes from CF Monterrey and has a contract until June 30, 2028. The fee is said to be 8 million euros.
Montes made the leap from junior to professional at Monterrey in 2016 and played a total of 265 games (13 goals) for the “Rayados”, with whom he won the Mexican championship once and twice the title in the CONCACAF Champions League. Espanyol wanted to sign Montes last summer, but could not agree on the fee with Monterrey shortly before the transfer ended.
