Esko Eerikäinen filed a criminal complaint against Wolt – This is how the company commented on allegations of harassment against his daughter

Iltalehti reported on Wednesday about the harassment experienced by the daughter of radio host Esko Eerikäinen.

Eerikäinen told Iltalehte that the incident happened on Wednesday a little before noon, when the presenter’s daughter had walked to school. According to Eerikäinen, a dispatcher from the food delivery service Wolt had stopped the daughter and asked for directions.

The daughter had helped the messenger, who had asked follow-up questions. According to Eerikäinen, the sender had asked his daughter “many times” to come with him. According to Eerikäinen, the messenger had also touched the daughter on the shoulder. However, the daughter had left the situation, and the messenger had not followed her.

Eerikäinen tells Iltalehti on Thursday afternoon that he filed a criminal complaint about the case. Eerikäinen also got in touch with the Wolt company. He says that he went through the case with the marketing representative. From now on, the case is under investigation by the authorities.

Wolt country manager Joel Järvinen states to Iltalehti that the company has been in contact with the parties involved.

– Every time we receive information about something of this type or something less serious, we naturally intervene and investigate the case as soon as possible, Järvinen commented on Thursday.

– Wolt does not accept activities where another person, and in this case a minor, has become fearful and unsafe, says Järvinen.

Järvinen states that especially when approaching a young person, the messenger partner should use careful consideration.

– This kind of action is not appropriate in any case, he continues.

Järvinen says that depending on the case, the company is in contact with the messenger partners and can, for example, give them a note about the feedback received.

– In the most serious cases, we can also terminate the cooperation with the partner in question, says Järvinen.

Järvinen does not comment in more detail on issues related to the respective ambassador partner.

Järvinen says that Wolt receives some contact with courier partners outside of orders.

– Most of these contacts are somehow related to traffic behavior, Järvinen states.

Järvinen states that the company encourages filing a criminal complaint in the most serious cases.

– The authorities have the best opportunity and skill to find out the matter thoroughly. Of course, we will do our best to help with these degrees, says Järvinen.
