Oliver Wolschke pulled the emergency brake! In 2017 he and his wife left Jehovah’s Witnesses.

The native of Berlin reports on this step on a website and in a book (“Jehovas prison – My life with Jehovah’s Witnesses and how I managed to break out”).

He was born in 1985, was brought up by his mother in the spirit of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and was baptized at the age of 16.

But when his children are born, doubts arise. He doesn’t want to refuse them a blood transfusion in an emergency, he criticizes the way the witnesses deal with child abuse and the breaking off of contact.

That’s why he and his wife decide to leave: and from then on are avoided by old friends. But Wolschke says: “The reactions have encouraged us to have done the right thing.”
