Ermenegildo Zegna Group closes 2022 in the black

The Italian fashion group Ermenegildo Zegna NV made it into the black in the 2022 financial year. This emerges from the latest figures published by the company on Thursday. The parent company of the Zegna and Thom Browne brands had already announced in January that it was able to increase its sales last year by 15.5 percent (currency-adjusted +11.0 percent) to 1.49 billion euros.

Thanks to the high sales growth and significantly lower one-off charges, the group posted an operating profit of EUR 147.8 million in 2022, after having suffered an operating loss of EUR 94.0 million in the previous year, not least due to negative special effects as part of the IPO completed at the end of 2021 had to.

The net profit attributable to the shareholders amounted to 51.5 million euros. In 2021, the group of companies had posted a corresponding deficit of 136.0 million euros. However, adjusted for special effects, the Group’s total net profit shrank by 2.2 percent to EUR 73.6 million due to cost increases.
