After his winning goal against Real, Erling Haaland answers questions in a TV interview. However, he would prefer to avoid one of the experts in the studio.

Once again Erling Haaland shot his team to victory. In the 2-1 win in the Champions League against Real Madrid, the Manchester City attacker scored the final score from a penalty shortly before half-time. It was Haaland’s sixth goal in the sixth game of the current season in the premier class.

After the game, the 25-year-old was connected to the sports studio of the British TV station CBS. Presenter Kate Scott and ex-professionals and experts Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards sat together there. The former City professional Richards jubilantly asked the Norwegian how he was doing. He in turn replied: “I get nervous now when I see Jamie Carragher in the studio.”

Carragher tried to calm Haaland. “You don’t have to be nervous, Erling. Don’t be nervous.” His colleague Richards then asked: “Haaland, who do you like better? Rüdiger (Real Madrid defender, editor’s note) or Carragher?”

The striker laughed briefly, then replied: “Ugh, I think it’s Rüdiger now. Because Carragher is a ticking time bomb right now.” Laughter filled the studio again.

Background to the whole thing: Former defender Carragher recently strongly criticized Mohamed Salah from Liverpool FC and described his behavior as “a disgrace”. The Egyptian was not in the starting line-up for the “Reds” in the last few games, gave vent to his frustration in an interview and saw himself as a scapegoat for Liverpool’s current crisis. He also approached coach Arne Slot. The result: The Dutchman threw Salah out of the squad for the Champions League duel with Inter Milan.
