Erica Meiland is disappointed with lower asking price: ‘200,000 euros a lot of money’

After the enormous debacle with their French castle, the Meilandjes will not lose their villa in Noordwijk either. The reason? They charge an exorbitant amount of money. Their new broker has lowered the price.

The Meilandjes try to get such an exorbitant amount of money with the sale of their real estate that no one shows up at all. After the huge debacle with the sale of their castle in France, it is now their Noordwijk villa that has been up for sale for five months. That is a major achievement in this day and age.

-200,000 euros

Star broker Harry Mens has been saying for some time that the Meilandjes have absolutely no understanding of real estate. They bought their Noordwijk villa last year for 2.7 million euros and that was already overpaid, says Harry. Now they wanted 3 million for it, but five months later it still hasn’t been sold.

Their new broker René van Nierop, who previously also sold the French castle, has now lowered the asking price to 2.8 million euros. “Two tons off, that’s a lot of money. It has of course been for sale for about five months at a colleague broker of ours,” he says in Shownieuws.

Price reduction

René has been involved in the sale of the house for three weeks. “We did look at the price together, but we were like: we’re going to give it another try. We have been working with a candidate and have been negotiating, but we have not come to an agreement.”

He has urged de Meilandjes to lower the asking price. “Actually yesterday and the day before yesterday we had intensive contact and decided to lower the price to the level that is a bit more realistic. We had to discuss that for a while.”

Erica is disappointed

Erica in particular did not want to lower the asking price, René reveals. “Martien was a little more flexible about it, but Erica is there anyway… And rightly so, because it is a lot of money two tons. You can do a lot of other things for that, but we were able to substantiate it well.”

“We hope to get the right people with this price reduction. That is also what we want now: get rid of that house quickly. They are eager to move to their new home. I said to Erica, ‘Give us four weeks and it should be gone.’”
