Erica Meiland is doing her best in Noordwijk to stop the arrival of an AZC and with that she arouses a lot of annoyance in the city council. “I think it is unwise that she lends herself for this.”
SBS 6 reality star Erica Meiland fulfills the role of municipal councilor in Noordwijk in addition to her job as a declarant of her screaming husband Martien Meiland. There, with her party party, she clearly speaks out against the arrival of an asylum seekers’ center. “We want the strange policy of” other people to “finally stop,” it sounds.
No AZC
Erica poses in some lawn with a large plate with the text on it: “No AZC!” “Our residents must always be able to leave the street safely, I don’t have to explain why the arrival of an AZC could change this in a negative sense; male asylum seekers are strongly over -represented in the crime figures,” according to the party.
She is also angry that banners are removed. “It is very surprising that the banners’ no AZC ‘on the AZC’ on the AZC were removed within a day by enforcement from the municipality, even from private property. While if a resident makes a report via Fixi, it often has to wait a long time for a response or enforcement.”
‘This is not possible’
Thomas Steenvorden, chairman of the Local Party Pure, finds it shameful how Erica behaves on this matter. “I think it is unwise if a city councilor lends himself to this type of communication, certainly because Erica is not even aware of the facts,” he says in the Story.
He continues: “If you, as a councilor, stand with a banner in a meadow, without knowing what the plan is, then you go too far and you participate in moodmaker. I think that is a shame. As a councilor you first have to make sure you have taken all the information exactly and know what the plan entails. But Erica does not know at all.”
Sturdy sponsors
Erica’s party buys power, Thomas Brakt. “The Pvdi was founded by a rich entrepreneur who has put a lot of money in the greenhouse, partly for that reason the Pvdi can buy votes. Erica is part of that.”
The local D66 party leader Karel van Herwaarden about this: “They have a very widely filled election fund, sometimes question marks and questions are asked, they have a few solid sponsors, wealthy Noordwijkers. Other parties do not have so many financial resources.”
