1&1 forecast 2022: sales target confirmed, earnings increased. Capex requirements and customer growth lower.

  • Service revenue 2022: unchanged at around EUR 3.2 billion
  • EBITDA 2022: increased to approx. EUR 690.0 million (previously expected: approx. EUR 671.9 million)
  • Participants 2022: approx. 350,000 new contracts (previously expected: approx. 450,000)
  • Cash capex 2022: approx. EUR 250 million (previously expected approx. EUR 400 million)

Montabaur, September 30, 2022 In a difficult economic environment, 1&1 AG (ISIN DE 0005545503) confirms the forecast for its service sales and increases the forecast for EBITDA. The company still expects an increase in service revenue to around EUR 3.2 billion (2021: EUR 3.1 billion), but an increased EBITDA of around EUR 690 million (2021: EUR 671.9 million). euros). The EBITDA forecast includes expenses for the construction of the 1&1 mobile network in the amount of approx. EUR -60 million (previously EUR -70 million).

Customer growth is now expected to be around 350,000 new contracts (previously: around 450,000). This includes stronger than expected effects from the TKG amendment that came into force in December 2021. Operating contract growth without these effects should be around 600,000 contracts, which corresponds to the previous year’s level.

The Capex requirement for the current financial year is expected to amount to around EUR 250 million (previously expected around EUR 400 million). Around EUR 150 million, which was originally planned for 2022, will only be able to be invested in 2023. The shift in investments to the 2023 financial year is primarily the result of unexpected delays in the provision of antenna sites as a result of supply bottlenecks at an expansion partner (1&1 press release of September 16, 2022). This will not affect the company’s long-term planning.
