The passion for engines came thanks to the father, owner of a workshop in the center of Turin. From there the first experiences in the rally, first as a navigator, then pilot. But it was precisely the family business that addressed him: in order to sell the Abarths in the workshop he attended a training course, where Carlo Abarth knew. With him a collaboration began to change his life. In 1971, Osella pointed out the Abarth racing department, when the brand was incorporated by Fiat. In a warehouse, Osella Corse was born. After the first seasons in Ford and Formula 2 formula, the big leap arrived, the debut in Formula 1, in 1980 with Eddie Chever behind the wheel. Two years later the team centrified the best result in its history: Jean-Pierre Jarier’s fourth place at the San Marino Grand Prix. The stable remained in Formula 1 until 1990, and then be detected in 1992 by the main lender, running with the name of Fondmetal. The adventure in the circus ended up for economic difficulties, but Osella Corse continued to build competition cars, keeping Enzo’s dream alive.
