The sea lock should make the inner port easier to access and thus increase the port’s economic activity. But Groen vzw believes that the consequences for nature and the quality of life in Zeebrugge have not been sufficiently investigated. The Dudzeelse Polder in particular would come under heavy pressure due to the works. The environmental association asks the Flemish government to reconsider the project.
