Ensors: Maaike Cafmeyer ‘Best actress in a TV series’

Grand prize for Close and Roomies
‘Close’ is the absolute winner in the film category. This film by Lukas Dhont managed to redeem no fewer than six of its thirteen nominations, with the Ensors for Best Picture, Best Director (Movie), Best Screenplay (Film), Best Performance in a Leading Role (Film) for Eden DambrineBest DOP for Frank van den Eden and Best Sound for Yanna Soentjens and Vincent Sinceretti. ‘Close’ was closely followed by ‘Zillion’. The movie of Robin Pront managed to win four Ensor prizes. Matthew Simoni was awarded the Ensor for Best Performance in a Supporting Role (Film) for the portrayal of Dennis Black Magic. The other awards for ‘Zillion’ were for Best Art Direction Geert ParedisBest Suit for Catherine Van Bree and Best Fitment for Bert Jacobs. ‘Zillion’ was also the Flemish film that managed to mobilize the most audience, for which Matteo Simoni and Hilde De Laere, producer, were the Box Office Awards were allowed to receive.

Joke Emmers took home the Ensor for Best Performance in Supporting Role (Fiction Series) for her role as Marie in ‘Billie vs Benjamin’.
