England’s national players have successfully defended the title at the European Championship. The premium that you get for it, but especially raises questions compared to the men.
With their triumph at the European women’s European Championship in Switzerland, the English internationals earned a bonus of £ 1.7 million. The English “Mirror” reports. However, this sum is almost ten times lower than the one that the English men’s team would have received if it had won the euro in 2024. The English Football Association (FA) had accused the men’s £ 14 million of premiums in the final in the final.
According to reports, every player of the “Lionesses” can expect a bonus of £ 73,000, while the men could have earned over £ 400,000 per player. Another bonus of four million pounds would have gone to the trainer Gareth Southgate.
Outside the field, however, the Lioness could be financially catching up with its own advertising contracts. Many of the prominent players expect millions from advertising contracts. It is estimated that the players could take an additional three million pounds through sponsoring deals and social media. The individual sponsorship contracts of the players include various industries such as fast food, banks, cosmetics and automobile manufacturers as well as considerable income from social media and sponsored contributions.
For comparison: The German internationals would have received 120,000 euros each for an European Championship victory from the German Football Association (DFB). The possible premium was twice as high as at the previous European Championship 2022.
