England are the new European football champions for U19 juniors.

The team beat Israel 3-1 (1-1, 0-1) after extra time in the final in Trnava, Slovakia. For the English Football Association (FA), it is the third continental U19 or U18 title after 1993 and 2017.

Callum Doyle (52′) equalized for England before Carney Chukwuemeka (108′) and Aaron Ramsey (116′) secured the win in overtime.

Midfielder Oscar Gluh had previously given the underdog from Israel the lead with his third goal of the tournament (40′).

The selection of the German Football Association (DFB) had not qualified for the final round for the third time in a row.
