Eneco drastically cuts back-supply fee for solar power | Money

For some customers with the current variable contracts, that was even more than 50 cents per kWh, Eneco confirms after a message from the AD.

According to the newspaper, the decision has led to a storm of protest from customers who have many solar panels and who see their perk melting like snow in the sun. About a quarter of the 1.8 million Dutch households with solar panels generate an average of 900 kWh more than they need on an annual basis. Anyone who is an Eneco customer sees the value of such a power surplus now plummet by hundreds of euros to just 81 euros.

Vattenfall announced last week that it would increase the rate from 7 to 17 cents per kWh as of 1 September. That also led to criticism because the increase only applies after the best months for solar energy are over.
