Among other things, Emily Ratajkowski criticized the flight to TIKTOK and explained: “This space mission is end-time shit this morning. That is more than a parody. You are concerned with mother earth and you fly in a spaceship that is built and paid for by single-handed the planet?” The model also asked: “Look at the state of the world. Think about how many resources were spent on bringing these women to space. What? What kind of marketing was that?” Ratajkowski also explained that she was “disgusted” by the campaign.
Olivia Wilde also does not seem to be a fan of the mission. In her Instagram story, she wrote: “With one billion dollars, a few good memes were bought.”
Before the trip even started, Olivia Munn was also one of the critics: inside. According to “NME”, the actress said: “What do they do? I know that it is probably not cool to say that, but there are so many other things that are important in the world at the moment. I know that is probably obvious, but it costs so much money to fly into space, and there are a lot of people who can’t even afford eggs.”

For example, a user wrote: “It is the ultimate symbol of privileges: to escape a planet that you have destroyed, while most people do not even have clean air to breathe or clean water. Imagine that you would really have something to change-and instead choose an astronaut cosplay for Instagram likes.”
Six women on board
The self-proclaimed “Taking Up Space” crew consisted of Katy Perry, the former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, the civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, the film producer Kerianne Flynn, journalist Lauren Sánchez and CBS presenter Gayle King.
According to the space company Blue Origin, which was founded by Jeff Bezos in 2000, the flight was completely autonomous. So there were no pilots and the crew was not responsible for the control. In the live stream for space mission, the astronauts were heard for joy during the trip. The “New Shepard” brought the crew to an altitude of 105 kilometers above the earth.
The space hymn “What a Wonderful World”
In space, Katy Perry is said to have even sung lines of the song “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong. After only 10 minutes and 22 seconds, the capsule put back on earth.
Blue Origin has been offering short trips for space tourists for several years. The current flight was probably the eleventh of this kind. It is not known how much such an excursion costs. According to the “Spiegel”, however, estimates in this regard are several hundred thousand dollars.
Space tourism is not only criticized by Ratajkowski, Wilde and Munn, but also by scientists: inside. The main reason for this is the environmental impact.
