Empty house in Burst completely burned out: large plume of smoke keeps Oudenaardsesteenweg closed | Erpe-Mere

The fire broke out at around 3 p.m. in a house opposite Burst church. It was an empty house that was undergoing renovation work. The cause of the fire is not yet clear, but the adjacent buildings have already been saved.

The fire brigades of Aalst, Denderleeuw, Erembodegem, Lede, Moorsel and Herzele went out to extinguish the fire. The flames were under control around 5.15 pm, but the house itself could not be saved.

Traffic has been disrupted all this time.
