An emotionally charged fifth edition of Dwars door Beveren on Saturday afternoon. The first goosebumps moment during the running race was the Sam Vandendriessche run for firefighters in intervention clothing in memory of their colleague, who passed away in December 2021. But it was also a special event for Joke Stragier. The young athlete has been paralyzed since an operation that went wrong, but took part in a competition for the first time by handbike.
