Ten stumbling blocks have been unveiled on the Hunebedstraat in Borger for two Jewish families who were murdered during the Second World War. This happened under the watchful eye of three people who knew the families personally. For them it was an emotional morning in which memories of the abduction of their neighbors came back to life.

In October 1942, the Jewish Stern and Dalsheim families were taken from their homes. 77-year-old widower David Stern, children Frouwkje, Emanuel and Maurits lived at number 14. In the house next door Filippu Dalsheim, his wife Vrouwkje and children Lina, Jacoba, Herman and Berthold. All deported to Westerbork, all deported to Auschwitz extermination camp and all never returned.
