Emirates intercept and destroy three “enemy drones of Houthi rebels” | Abroad

The drones were intercepted and destroyed early Wednesday morning far from populated areas, the ministry said in a press release published on Twitter. Defense is “ready to face any threat” and “take all necessary measures to protect the state and territory”.

The UAE made several reports of attacks by the Houthi rebels in January. On January 17, three people were killed in a drone and missile attack on Abu Dhabi, one of the seven emirates. On January 24 and 31, ballistic missiles were intercepted.

The United Arab Emirates has been standing with Saudi Arabia and other allies for years in the fight against the Shia rebels in Yemen. The Houthi rebels, who are backed by Iran, regularly attack targets in Saudi Arabia.
