Snowfall, blizzard and icy conditions are expected in Moscow in the next few hours, reported on the website of the Moscow Emergencies Ministry.
“An emergency warning about unfavorable meteorological phenomena <...> from 23.00 on December 24 with preservation until 11.00 on December 25 in Moscow, snow is expected, in some places heavy. Blizzard in places, snow drifts on the roads. Wind gusts up to 17m / s. Black ice, ”the message says.
The department advised drivers to avoid maneuvers and significantly reduce their speed, as well as park cars away from trees. Pedestrians, in turn, were advised to bypass billboards and advertising structures.

Earlier, Yevgeny Tishkovets, a leading specialist at the Phobos center, also warned that on the night of December 24-25, the North Atlantic cyclone Quintinus would bring snowfalls, blizzards and sudden pressure surges to Moscow. “At least 5-7 mm of precipitation will fall on the city, which is 10% of the monthly norm,” he said.
