The still weakened German basketball players put a false start in the European Championship preparation.
The team of trainer Lisa Thomaidis had a clear 70:86 (34:45) against the Czech Republic in Bamberg, and the game was also overshadowed by a violation of the DBB captain Marie Gülich.
It was the first of a total of four preparatory games for the European Championship, which will take place in Hamburg (preliminary round) and Piraeus (final round) from June 18 to 29.
Frieda Bühner with convincing performance
From the beginning, the German basketball players ran against the game -determining Czech women, who are currently in 18th place on the world rankings and thus five ranks behind the German team. After all, Frieda Bühner convinced with 19 points and seven rebounds
The German team left too much from the triple line (17 percent attempts). Each of the four quarters went to the Czech, in which four players made a double -digit number of points.
WNBA players come only later
The three USA legionnaires Leonie Fiebich, Luisa Geiselsöder and Nyara Sabally only take the team shortly before the tournament begins because the season in the WNBA is currently running. At the European Championship start on June 19 in Hamburg against Sweden, the trio should then be in the squad.
The next test will be on the next Friday in Heidelberg, after which the DBB women will test against Belgium twice (June 12th and 14th)
