EM false start for German curling men

For the German curling men, the European Championships in Östersund, Sweden, began with a false start, followed in the evening by the first victory in the tournament.

The team around Skip Sixten Totzek lost their first group game on Saturday morning against Scotland 4:6, in the second game Germany then won 10:9 against Denmark.

The women of the German Curling Association (DCV) celebrated their second win in the second tournament game after the 7:3 win against Italy on Friday with a 12:1 win against Hungary.

The four best teams from the two fields of ten reach the semi-finals. Among other things, the title fights serve as qualification for the 2023 World Cup in Ottawa (April 1 to 9).
